Securing machinery to its foundation to minimize movement is achieved with machine mounts. These provide a rigid, bolted connection between the machine and the foundation—typically via a base plate and anchor bolts set into a concrete base—so the equipment remains fixed and aligned during operation. That fixed attachment is what prevents translation or tilting under load and vibration. Pads, by contrast, mainly distribute load or offer some damping but don’t lock the machine in place.
